In the case of suspected terrorist Vikrant Kashyap arrested from Jhajhra, the investigating agencies have received many surprising inputs. Initial investigation has revealed that Vikrant was part of a new module associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI which was active in different parts of the country.
According to the investigating agencies, this module was prepared in a very planned manner. Each member involved was assigned different responsibilities so that if one person was caught, the entire network could not be exposed. According to sources, some members were given the task of recce (surveillance) of sensitive and crowded places. Some people were given the responsibility of handling logistics support such as locations, resources and movement arrangements.
Others were tasked with installing solar Wi-Fi cameras to enable continuous monitoring without arousing suspicion. It is being told that through these cameras, activities at important locations could be monitored and the data could be accessed remotely.
Even before the arrest of Vikrant, about 32 suspects associated with this module have been arrested in Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan. This entire network spread across the country is being considered a part of a bigger conspiracy. Central agencies and STF are now engaged in a thorough investigation of other members of this module, their funding sources and possible targets.
