Volvo and AC buses will ply on Dehradun-Delhi Expressway from Tuesday. These buses will cover the distance from Dehradun to Delhi in three hours. In the first phase, eight Volvo, six AC and one ordinary bus will be sent through the expressway.

Initially the buses will be trialled. This will help in estimating the time and total expenditure. On the basis of this, the fares of these buses can also be reduced. It is noteworthy that Doon-Delhi Expressway will be formally inaugurated on Tuesday.

The distance from Doon to Delhi by normal route was about 260 kilometers. After the construction of the expressway, this distance has reduced to about 210 kilometers. Where roadways buses used to take five hours to reach Delhi through the old route, but now this time has reduced to three hours.
