Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived on Monday to participate in the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan organized at Vigyan Bhawan. This program is being organized at a time when the government has called a three-day special session from April 16-18. The program started with the singing of Vande Mataram.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, speaking on the Nari Shakti Vandan Act and underlining the growing role of women, said, “India is going to take one of the biggest decisions of the 21st century amidst important stages of the country’s development journey.” This decision is dedicated to women power and worshiping women power. The Parliament of our country is close to creating a new history. This history will realize the concepts of the past and fulfill the resolutions of the future.
Social justice will not remain just a slogan: PM Modi
PM Modi said, “This is a resolve to build an egalitarian India, where social justice is not just a slogan. But our work culture should be a natural part of our decision process. The time for the end of decades of wait from the state assemblies to the country’s Parliament is 16, 17 and 18 April.
He further said, “The first step was taken in the form of Nari Shakti Vandan Act in the new Parliament in 2023. So that it can be implemented on time, women’s participation can strengthen our democracy, for this a special meeting of the budget session of Parliament is going to be organized from 16th April. Today, through this program we are getting the blessings of millions of mothers and sisters of the country.
Congratulations to women on the arrival of a new era: Prime Minister
He said that I congratulate all the women of India on the arrival of a new era. Everyone has been feeling the need for reservation for women in the democratic structure for decades. Four decades or forty years have passed since this discussion. It involves efforts from all parties and across multiple generations. When the Nari Shakti Vandan Act came in 2023, all the parties unanimously got it passed.
In this program, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta said that during the Modi government, work has been done at the grassroots level regarding women. He said that in the Modi government, women held big positions from Foreign Minister to Finance Minister. Giving his own example, he said that I have also got the opportunity to work as the Chief Minister of Delhi during the Modi government.
In the conference, Union Minister Annapurna Devi said that today’s program is a celebration of a new and inspiring story of national building. This is that sacred moment, when the confluence of determination, dedication and success is coming true in front of us. Nari Shakti Vandan Act is a great celebration of the democratic accomplishment of years of struggle and sadhana of our mother power.
Increasing role of women in governance and leadership
According to reports, the purpose of organizing this conference is to underline the growing role of women in governance and leadership at all levels, from Panchayats to Parliament. Before the special Parliament session called to discuss the proposed amendment in the Women’s Reservation Act, PM Narendra Modi will also reiterate the government’s commitment towards women’s reservation by participating in the Nari Shakti Vandan Sammelan at Vigyan Bhawan.
