
To give a new impetus to development in Una district of Himachal Pradesh, Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu laid the foundation stone of projects worth Rs 260 crore. On this occasion, site development work worth Rs 250 crore of Bulk Drug Park was started at Polian Beet in Haroli area. The foundation stone of a working women’s hostel at a cost of Rs 10 crore was also laid in Panjuana. The Chief Minister said that this is not just the beginning of the projects, but is a step that will give a new direction to the future of Una.
Bulk Drug Park will change the picture of the area
In his address, the Chief Minister said that Bulk Drug Park is a project of national importance and it is the priority of the government to take it forward rapidly. He instructed the officials that its work should be clearly visible on the ground in the coming 6 to 8 months.
He said that after the completion of this project, Haroli area will emerge as a modern industrial city and huge employment opportunities will be created for the local youth.
He said that this industrial complex, which is being developed at a cost of about Rs 2000 crore, will give new strength to the country’s pharma sector. This will strengthen India’s position in the manufacturing of active pharmaceutical ingredients and reduce dependence on foreign countries for pharmaceutical raw materials. The Chief Minister also said that only 3 bulk drug parks are being built in the entire country, out of which one is being established in Haroli, which is a matter of pride for the state.
The Chief Minister said that this project is being run by the state government itself and both the Center and the state have equal participation in it. Together both are investing Rs 1,000 crore each. He also clarified that the state government is taking forward such schemes keeping public interest paramount.
Along with this, he targeted the Central Government and said that the interests of Himachal have been ignored by stopping the Revenue Deficit Grant. He said that weakening schemes like MNREGA is harmful for the poor. He also accused the previous BJP government that despite getting more money from the Centre, it was not utilized properly.
Special focus on education and youth
Referring to the changes in the education sector, the Chief Minister said that implementation of CBSE pattern in government schools is showing positive results. He said that earlier Himachal was at 21st place in terms of education, but now it has reached fifth place, which is a big achievement. He believes that this is giving better opportunities to children and strengthening their future.
Apart from this he met Dr. Y.S. Parmar also mentioned the Student Loan Scheme, under which loans are being given to students at only one percent interest rate. He said that the aim of the government is that no student should be deprived of education due to financial reasons.
The Chief Minister also informed about the steps taken in the interest of farmers. He said that the state government is promoting natural farming and better minimum support price is being given to the farmers.
Efforts have been made to increase the income of farmers by increasing the support price of wheat, maize and turmeric. He said that this will directly benefit the farmers and they will be more attracted towards natural farming.
Rapid infrastructure development in Haroli
Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that work is being done continuously in a planned manner to give Haroli a strong identity on the industrial map. He said that many important works related to the Bulk Drug Park are being completed rapidly. The work on drinking water projects has been completed and work on other development works is going on at a fast pace.
He also said that the proposed railway line at a cost of about Rs 3400 crore will connect this industrial area to the national rail network, which will strengthen both investment and supply chain. Along with this, work is also being done on a large scale to improve road connectivity, which will make trade and movement easier in the area.
Emphasis on basic facilities also
The Deputy Chief Minister said that work is going on at a fast pace on the Santoshgarh-Janjo road project, which will improve the traffic system. Apart from this, efforts are being made to solve the water problem in rural areas of Una district through a drinking water scheme of Rs 175 crore. He said that people will get direct benefit from these schemes and the standard of living will improve.
Industry Minister Harsh Vardhan Chauhan said that the Bulk Drug Park project is very important for the industrial progress of the state. He said that this project will create new opportunities for employment, investment and economic development and will give Himachal a new identity in the industrial sector.
