
This historic return of the astronauts took place in the Pacific Ocean off the coast of San Diego. The Orion spacecraft made a safe landing in the ocean with the help of a parachute system after entering the Earth’s atmosphere. The recovery team reached the spot immediately after landing and after an elaborate procedure all the astronauts were safely evacuated from the capsule. After this the army helicopter arrived to pick him up.
Sharing information on the social media platform X, NASA said that the four astronauts have been successfully evacuated from the Orion spacecraft and have been taken to the US Navy ship USS John P. Murtha. From here, they will be taken to the medical room and necessary health checkups will be done after the mission. The joy of the success of the mission was clearly visible on the faces of astronauts Christina Koch and Victor Glover on the deck of the ship.
During this time, NASA astronaut Chris Williams present at the International Space Station also saw this historic moment. He told that while entering the Earth’s atmosphere, the bright light of the Orion module and the bright streak left behind it were clearly visible, which shows the grandeur of this mission.
Before returning to Earth, NASA had told that this team has completed a long journey of about 6 lakh 90 thousand miles and is now getting closer to the Earth.
