A sensational case related to social media has come to light in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, where the controversy that started over emojis and objectionable comments ultimately reached the murder of a young man. Within 36 hours, the police have arrested the main accused Samad Musa in the case of murder of Aman Raza in Railway Colony of Kotwali police station area on April 8, 2026. Samad Musa is a bodybuilder.
After the incident, the family members had filed a case against three youths on the basis of suspicion. Police proceeded with the investigation through surveillance and CCTV footage. On the basis of technical evidence, the name of Samad Musa came to light, after which he was arrested. At the behest of the accused, the police have also recovered a blood stained brick, Aadhaar card of the deceased, blood stained clothes of the accused and a Samsung mobile phone.
Tension going on on social media
Investigation revealed that there was tension going on between Aman and Samad on social media for a long time. Both were also identified through social media. According to the accused, he used to make and post reels, on which Aman would continuously put objectionable comments and ‘winking emojis’. When the dispute did not stop despite repeated explanations, the enmity continued to deepen.

Aman had gone to City station on the day of the incident. During this time there was a phone conversation between the two and Samad also reached there. In anger, the accused caught hold of Aman and threw him on the railway track. After this, he dragged him to a nearby ruined railway house, where he attacked him with bricks and stones and killed him. After committing the crime the accused fled from the spot.
According to area officer Ashutosh Shivam, there was a dispute going on between the two regarding emojis and objectionable comments on social media and the murder took place due to this enmity. Involvement of only one accused has come to light in the case, who has been arrested and further action is underway.
