The court made a strong comment saying that correct and impartial investigation is an essential part of the fundamental right to a fair trial. The court admitted that there were huge irregularities in the investigation by Begusarai police. The family members had called it a premeditated murder, while the police had tried to close the file by terming it a suicide without any solid basis. It was told that the condition in which Rinku Kumari’s body was found did not match the story of suicide. The dead body was covered with dust and a noose was stuck around its neck, which indicated some major conflict.
Advocate of petitioner Tejaswini Kumari made a sensational revelation in the court. He told that the deceased Rinku Kumari had given an advance of Rs 15 lakh to two persons of her neighborhood to buy land. But they neither gave the land nor returned the money. When the woman started demanding money, but both of them were reluctant to give the money. After a lot of uproar, a Panchayat was held, in which pressure was put on the accused to return the money. Then the accused had promised to return the money on April 4, 2021. The same day Rinku left for school, but her suspicious body was found in the afternoon.
