Rajasthan Royals defeated Gujarat Titans by six runs. On Saturday, the exciting match of IPL 2026 was played at Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. In this match, Rajasthan won the toss and decided to bat first and put 210 runs for six wickets in 20 overs on the board. Yashasvi Jaiswal (55) and Dhruv Jurel (75) played half-century innings for them. In reply, Gujarat team could score only 204 runs for eight wickets in 20 overs and lost the match. Sai Sudarshan scored 73 runs for them.

Gujarat’s strong start
Chasing the huge target of 211 runs, the Gujarat team made a strong start and kept the match exciting till the last ball. Gujarat Titans had a great start. Kumar Kushagra and Sai Sudarshan added 78 runs for the first wicket in 7.6 overs. Kushagra was out after scoring 18 runs, but Sudarshan continued to bat brilliantly. He scored 73 runs in 44 balls, which included 9 fours and 3 sixes. Jos Buttler (26 runs, 14 balls) could not convert a good start into a big innings. Glenn Phillips was out after scoring only three runs, while Washington Sundar could only add four runs. Rahul Tewatia tried to give momentum to the team by scoring 12 runs and Shahrukh Khan scored 11 runs.

Rashid-Rabada’s effort
In the last overs, Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada made the match exciting by making a quick partnership of 43 runs in 30 balls. Rashid scored 24 runs in 16 balls, while Rabada remained unbeaten on 23 runs in 16 balls. However, accurate bowling by Joffra Archer and Tushar Deshpande in the last two overs changed the course of the match.
The match dragged on till the last over, where Gujarat needed 10 runs to win and Rashid Khan and Kagiso Rabada were present at the crease. The responsibility of bowling was in the hands of Tushar Deshpande.
First ball (wide): Deshpande’s low full toss went outside off and the umpire declared it wide. Now 10 runs in 6 balls.
First ball: Rabada squeezed the next ball and took a single. Now 9 runs in 5 balls.
Second ball: Rashid Khan could take only one run. 8 runs in 4 balls.
Third ball: Deshpande again bowled a brilliant yorker and Rabada stole a run. 7 runs in 3 balls.
Fourth ball: Perfect ball by Deshpande, Rashid goes to scoop but misses and it is a dot ball. 7 runs in 2 balls.
Fifth ball (wicket): While trying to play a big shot, Rashid Khan played the ball in the air. Joffra Archer took an excellent catch under pressure. Now 7 runs needed on the last ball.
Sixth ball: New batsman Ashok Sharma could not score any runs.
outcome: Rajasthan won by six runs.

Half centuries of Jaiswal and Jurel
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals, who came to bat first after winning the toss, had a strong start. Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi batted brilliantly and added 70 runs in 6.2 overs for the first wicket. Facing 18 balls, Vaibhav scored 31 runs with the help of 5 fours and one six. Whereas, Yashasvi played a brilliant inning of 55 runs in 36 balls.
Dhruv Jurel, who came to bat at number three, appeared in excellent form and played an excellent inning of 75 runs in 42 balls. Jurel hit 5 fours and 5 sixes in this innings. Jurel along with Yashasvi made an important partnership of 56 runs for the second wicket. Shimron Hetmyer scored 18 runs in 8 balls.
However, captain Riyan Parag could not show anything special with the bat and he was out after scoring eight runs. Ravindra Jadeja remained unbeaten after scoring 7 runs. On the basis of brilliant innings of Jurel-Yashshvi, Rajasthan Royals team was successful in scoring 210 runs on the scoreboard after losing six wickets in 20 overs. In bowling, Kagiso Rabada took the maximum two wickets for Gujarat Titans.
