Due to the effect of the new disturbance active in Uttar Pradesh, strong winds, thunderstorms and light rain were recorded in Noida, Ghaziabad and Saharanpur of Western UP on Friday, due to which the maximum temperature dropped by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Department, by Saturday its impact will reach Madhyanchal and Purvanchal. There is a possibility of light to moderate rain with thunderstorms and strong winds at a speed of 50 to 60 km per hour in about 35 districts of the state. Hail may also occur at some places.
Varanasi and Sultanpur were the hottest on Friday with 38.6 degrees Celsius. A temperature of 38.5 degrees was recorded in Ballia and 38.4 degrees in Banda. Atul Kumar Singh, senior scientist of Zonal Meteorological Centre, Lucknow, said that the effect of western disturbance active in southern Afghanistan and surrounding Pakistan region is now visible in Uttar Pradesh. Due to this, strong gusty winds will blow in many parts of Western UP, Madhyanchal and Bundelkhand and changes in the weather will continue.
