BSP has again started a new political debate by advocating for making Western UP a new state. The increasing influence of BJP in Western UP, considered the stronghold of BSP, and the burglary efforts of SP have increased the political temperature in this region. This is the reason why the BSP chief gave a befitting reply to SP President Akhilesh Yadav’s attempt to establish a foothold in Western UP through a rally in Noida on Sunday. At the same time, it was also told to BJP that the multi-faceted development of this area has happened only under the BSP government.
If we look at the election results of the last two decades, BSP has had a significant influence in this area. BSP supremo herself also belongs to this area. During the BSP government, the monuments, parks, expressways etc. built in Noida also brought about a big change, the credit for which is given to BSP only. However, BJP managed to make a dent in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections. BSP had to suffer huge loss due to this. The same situation prevailed in the 2017 assembly elections also. BSP won some seats in Western UP due to its alliance with SP in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections. But, after this alliance broke, the condition of BSP worsened again. Now BSP is again trying to establish its old dominance in this area.
