Responsibility at a young age, a journey full of struggle
Amit and Aniket’s new life started with grandmother Parvati Verma in Bhopal, but this journey was not easy. Amit started working even before the age of 18 so that he could bear the expenses of Aniket’s upbringing and education. He worked in a small vehicle showroom and earned around Rs 3000 per month. It was difficult to run the household with such a low income, but he never let Aniket’s dreams be cut short.
Aniket was interested only in cricket. He used to think only about cricket while eating, drinking and sleeping, but his financial condition was not strong enough to easily bear the expenses of expensive cricket kit and training. Amit told in an interview to New Indian Express, ‘Many times I had to take a loan so that I could buy cricket equipment for him. I was determined not to let him lack anything.

Initially Aniket took training at the Railway Academy, but his talent seemed limited there. Then the coaches suggested that he needed better training. In such a situation, he was sent to Jyoti Prakash Tyagi’s cricket academy. Coach Jyoti Prakash Tyagi recognized Aniket’s talent and decided to give him training without fees. He not only provided coaching but also provided cricket kits when needed. Tyagi says, ‘When Aniket was 12-13 years old, I knew that this boy would go far.
