Increasing conflict between Afghanistan and Pakistan: Afghan government alleges – One dead, 16 injured in Pak shelling – Afghanistan And Pakistan Tensions Afghan Government Alleges One Dead 16 Injured In Pakistani Shelling

A big news is coming out amid the ongoing tension on the border between Afghanistan and Pakistan. On Sunday, the Afghan government alleged that Pakistani troops shelled the outskirts of a city in eastern Afghanistan, killing one person and wounding 16. Most of the injured include women and children.

According to Afghan government deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat, this attack by Pakistan was carried out with heavy weapons and mortars. Fitrat also said in his statement that the attack took place around Asadabad city of Kunar province. Many houses were damaged in this. However, there has been no immediate response from Pakistan on this allegation.

Now understand why the controversy is increasing?

Let us tell you that there has been tension between the two countries for a long time. Pakistan alleges that Afghanistan provides shelter to terrorists, especially Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). This organization is believed to be linked to the Afghan Taliban, which took power in Afghanistan in 2021. Afghanistan, on the other hand, denies these allegations.

Now understand what happened in recent months?

After the ongoing conflict between the two countries for several months, the fighting between the two countries has intensified since February, which is considered to be the most serious in decades. During this period, there have been several cross-border attacks and air strikes from both the countries. Afghanistan alleged that Pakistan carried out an airstrike in Kabul, killing hundreds of people, although Pakistan denied this. On the other hand, last month Pakistan described it as an open war. The international community is also concerned because terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and Islamic State are active in the region.

failed attempt to stop the conflict

It is noteworthy that recently there was a temporary ceasefire before Eid-ul-Fitr with the mediation of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar, but it ended and fighting started again. These peace talks were held in Istanbul in November, but no permanent solution could be reached.
