When Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav was questioned on this entire controversy, he said that Kiren Rijiju is a good man but how can he impose dress code. Should one come to Parliament wearing shorts?
When SP President Akhilesh Yadav was asked about Rahul Gandhi wearing a T-shirt in Parliament, he replied, “So what do you have to wear?” When the journalist talked about banning T-shirts, he said, “Why should there be a ban…? Kiren Rijiju is a good and very intelligent man. We know him very well. He is a BJP minister. But, how can a dress code be imposed?”
‘Will you make shorts a dress code?’
Akhilesh Yadav further asked the question, “What dress code will you enforce? You yourself have given up your shorts, you are also wearing pants. We are ready if all the BJP people wear the same old shorts. We are also ready.”
SP President Akhilesh Yadav is part of the India alliance. It has often been seen that whenever questions are raised about Rahul Gandhi, the SP chief answers them with the same intensity. Recently, when he was asked on a news channel that he seems to be the most vocal in defending Rahul Gandhi, he had said that we are socialist people and if we are with anyone, we are firm.

He personally has no problem with Rahul Gandhi but when he is speaking formally as the leader of the opposition, he should follow traditions, rules and etiquette.
