‘PM Modi and I will settle…’, Trump’s shocking statement amid war with Iran, is America dragging India’s name?

Amidst the war going on between Iran-Israel-America for almost a month and fears of American military action, US President Donald Trump Narendra Modi Has been praised. Trump has said, ‘PM Modi and I are two people who get the job done.’

Relationship with India will be stronger: Trump

The US Embassy posted this message on its official social media handle in India on Friday. Trump wrote, ‘Our wonderful relationship with India will strengthen further. PM Modi and I are two people who get the work done, which cannot be said about most people.

This statement of Trump came after his telephone conversation with Prime Minister Modi on Tuesday. This was the first conversation between the two leaders after the start of the Iran war (28 February 2026). In the conversation, both discussed the situation in the Middle East and stressed the need for stability in the region.

We will continue to strive for peace: PM Modi

Prime Minister Modi later expressed his views by tweeting. He said, ‘Spoke to President Trump on phone. There was a useful discussion on the situation in West Asia. India supports de-escalation and restoration of peace as soon as possible. Keeping the Strait of Hormuz open, safe and accessible is important for the entire world. We will remain in touch on peace and stability efforts. The two leaders agreed to maintain constant contact on regional peace, stability and security of vital sea routes.

It is noteworthy that India is not directly involved in this war, but it has continuously appealed for de-escalation, restoration of peace and keeping the Strait of Hormuz safe. India has good relations with America, Israel and Iran, hence its role can be important in peace efforts. Trump’s message has come at a time when global trade and oil supply have become more expensive due to the war in the Middle East.
