The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is in a mood to give maximum match practice to the team before next year’s World Cup. According to reports, boards like England, New Zealand, Ireland and Sri Lanka have requested India to increase the number of ODI matches in the ongoing bilateral series. This will give India an opportunity to prepare well in which Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli will be the main center of attraction. Both the legends now play only in ODI format.

Team India’s schedule in 2026 is going to be very busy. After IPL, a series will be played against Afghanistan. Then there will be a tour of England, where the number of ODI matches is likely to increase. Matches against Ireland and Sri Lanka may also increase. Sri Lanka Board is also trying to add limited overs matches in the Test series with India. It is clear that before 2027, India will continuously focus on 50 over cricket.

He said, ‘I have grown up watching the 50-over World Cup. That was the biggest stage. I really want that trophy and will give my all to get it. I want to go there and win the World Cup for my country.
