₹16,600 cr deal: United Spirits trades flat; Sun TV, RPSG Ventures rally

United Spirits shares traded flat on the NSE at ₹1,318.50 at 9:55 am after opening positively at ₹1,337.90 compared with the previous close of ₹1,328, even as the company announced a major strategic divestment.

The company announced sale of its entire 100 per cent stake in Royal Challengers Sports Pvt Ltd for ₹16,660 crore to a consortium comprising the Aditya Birla Group, Times Group, Bolt, and Blackstone. The transaction marks a significant monetization move by the company and is among the largest deals in the Indian sports franchise space.

Meanwhile, Sun TV Network shares surged 5 per cent on the NSE to ₹649.35, drawing investor attention amid rising valuations of cricket franchises. The company owns the Sunrisers Hyderabad franchise.

In addition, RPSG Ventures Ltd rallied more than 18 per cent to ₹711. The stock gained momentum as investors tracked valuations linked to its ownership of the Lucknow Super Giants franchise.
