Mohammad Fatahali said that India can play an important role in reducing the ongoing tension in West Asia. He said that India, being a major power in the Global South and having a balanced foreign policy, can make an important contribution in establishing peace in West Asia.
Dr. Fatahali said that India has historical and strategic relations with all the countries involved in the West Asia conflict. He said that due to this, it establishes India as a reliable player in removing misunderstandings and strengthening diplomatic paths. His comment has come at a time when tension has increased significantly in West Asia.
War situation and conditions of Iran
When asked about the current situation of war in West Asia, Iranian Ambassador Dr. Mohammad Fatahali said that the war is continuing. He reiterated that Iran did not start this war, but will play an important role in ending it. He said the end of the war would depend on the resolution of Iran’s legitimate conditions and demands.
Describing Iran’s conditions for stopping the war, he said that aggressive actions should be completely curbed, reliable guarantees should be given to ensure that attacks will not happen again, attackers should be held accountable, along with this, Iran’s legal rights and interests should be ensured to be respected.
What is Iran’s stance on talks with America?
Dr. Fatahali emphasized that Iran will do everything possible to defend its country. He said the price of resistance is lower than surrender and this principle will guide Iran’s approach. He said that the Iranian people have chosen the path of resistance.
The Iranian ambassador has denied reports of any talks with US officials. He said that Iran is not having any direct or indirect talks with America. Regarding US President Donald Trump’s 48-hour ultimatum, he said that Iran is neither afraid of it nor does it consider his proposals for talks as genuine.
