‘We will spread gunpowder in the Strait of Hormuz and Persian Gulf’, Iran furious over Trump’s ultimatum, world in fear!

Amidst the ongoing war in the Middle East, Iran has warned of laying ammunition on sea routes. Iran’s Defense Council has warned that if Iran is attacked, they will lay mines throughout the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz, making it impossible to use these sea routes. Amidst the increasing tension between America and Israel, Iran said that it will respond to any attack to protect its coasts and islands.

IRGC’s warning to America

The Persian Gulf is an important maritime area located in the Middle East. The Strait of Hormuz is a very important and strategic sea route for global energy security. The Strait of Hormuz is between Iran and Oman/UAE, connecting the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea. Meanwhile, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said that if its power infrastructure is targeted, it will give a direct response.

In a statement issued by the Fars News Agency, the IRGC said, ‘If our power supply is disrupted, we will also take revenge. The IRGC said that targeting the electricity network would disrupt facilities like hospitals, emergency centers and water systems. He warned that Iran would respond by attacking Israeli power infrastructure and infrastructure in surrounding countries. Apart from this, economic and energy assets related to American interests will also be targeted.

Hormuz important for global oil shipment

This warning has been given by Iran at a time when tension is increasing around the Strait of Hormuz, an important sea route for global oil shipments. Iran’s military has already said that it is ready to close the Strait of Hormuz indefinitely if the US attacks Iranian energy infrastructure.

Iranian Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi said regarding the Strait of Hormuz that Iran has not closed this strategic sea route. He said that the main reason for the decline in ship movement is the fear of war prevalent among insurance companies, due to which shipping companies are hesitant to pass through this area. Araghchi has directly blamed the policies of America and Israel for this situation.
