Rajasthan Royals have suffered a big blow after Sam Curran got injured before IPL 2026. Karan is out of the entire tournament due to groin injury. Now Sri Lankan all-rounder Dasun Shanaka is ready to join the team in his place. News agency PTI quoted sources as saying, Shanaka has informed his Pakistan Super League (PSL) team Lahore Qalandars about this decision and the formalities related to the transfer are being completed.
Shanaka is in great form
Shanaka has been in excellent batting form recently. He scored a quick half-century in 20 balls against Oman, while against Pakistan he scored an unbeaten 76 runs in 31 balls. He is a useful lower-order batsman and medium pace bowler, which will provide balance to the team. Shanaka has previously played for Gujarat Titans in IPL 2023. However, his performance in that season was not special.
Such a change happened before too
Recently, another player Blessing Muzarabani also left PSL team Islamabad United and joined Kolkata Knight Riders, where he was included as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman.
Rajasthan’s strong foreign players list
Rajasthan Royals already have strong foreign players, which include players like Shimron Hetmyer, Joffra Archer, Adam Milne. Rajasthan Royals will play their first match against Chennai Super Kings on March 30 in Guwahati.
