National President of All India Jamaat, Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi has expressed strong objection to showing former MP Atiq Ahmed with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI in the film ‘Dhurandhar 2’. He termed it as factless and said that such presentation can spread confusion in the society.
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi said that some filmmakers present controversial topics in exaggerated form only for the purpose of earning money. According to him, an attempt is made to attract the audience’s attention by adding religious angles in films, which can affect social harmony. He said that the lack of social responsibility is clearly visible in such efforts.
He also said that the political and criminal history of Atiq Ahmed is a separate subject, but it is not appropriate to link him with foreign agencies. Maulana told that Atiq Ahmed became MLA from Allahabad West for the first time in the year 1989 and was MLA for a total of five times. Apart from this, he was also elected Lok Sabha MP from Phulpur in the year 2004. However, many criminal cases were registered against him, due to which his political career remained in constant controversies.
Maulana Shahabuddin’s special appeal to film makers
Maulana Shahabuddin Razvi Barelvi appealed to the filmmakers to present content based on facts and giving positive direction to the society, so that no misunderstanding or social tension is created.
