The long standing feud between Canada and India now seems to be ending completely. After the recent visit of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to India, now a big statement has come out from the Commissioner of Canada’s security agency ‘Royal Canadian Mounted Police’. This is now being considered a major diplomatic victory for India.
The ice in India-Canada relations has melted
The ice in the relations between India and Canada has now completely melted. Just after the successful visit of Canadian Prime Minister Mark Carney to India, the National Police Service of Canada has now completely rejected the serious allegations against India. Police Commissioner Mike Duhem has clearly said that people currently living in Canada face no threat from any agent of the Indian government.
Police Commissioner Mike Duhem said that right now we do not have any record that proves the role of any foreign organization. The relevant files contain names of many people who are involved in intimidating and harassing people. However, we have no evidence that these people are related to any foreign organization or any country.
Canadian officials suddenly changed tone
There was a time when during the tenure of former Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, Canada had directly linked the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar to Indian agencies. But now Commissioner Mike Duhem has changed his tune. Now he said that the links that are in front of us at present are not connecting to any foreign organization or the Indian Government. He also acknowledged that the statements he made in 2024 were based on limited investigation at that time, but today’s situation and evidence are completely different.
Big revelation on the truth of Bishnoi gang and extortion
The name of Lawrence Bishnoi gang was being raised in the extortion incidents taking place in Canadian cities like Surrey, Brampton and Calgary for quite some time. On this the Commissioner said that it is wrong to directly link every case to the Bishnoi gang. Many criminals are using this name only to create fear. Most importantly, Canadian investigative agencies have not found any concrete evidence that links these criminal activities to the Indian government.
The Police Commissioner has given assurance regarding the return of Indian diplomats to Canada. He said that the police is closely monitoring every kind of threat. He appealed to the people to report to the police without fear. This statement from Canada’s top policing body confirms that a new dawn has now dawned in the relations between the two countries.
