Congress MP Shashi Tharoor gave a big statement on Friday. He said that India should have sent a timely condolence message on the death of Iran’s supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. According to Tharoor, even if India had not condemned the attack by America and Israel, expressing condolences would have been the right step.

He reminded that when former Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi died in a helicopter crash, India had immediately declared state mourning and sent its condolences. However, he expressed satisfaction that when the Iranian Embassy in Delhi opened the condolence book, our Foreign Secretary was immediately sent to convey condolences.
