A shocking case of audacity of thieves has come to light in Katra locality of Kotwali police station area of Basti district. Here a gang targeted a filled gas cylinder kept outside the house in broad daylight. After this incident, there is panic in the entire area and people are worried about the safety of their property.
At the same time, after the incident of cylinder theft, the victim’s family is very hurt as to how the stove will be lit in their house. Due to the shortage of cylinder gas, a filled cylinder was somehow found with great difficulty, but the thieves have got hold of that cylinder also. The victim’s family is very upset.
‘Waste of time with financial loss’
According to the victim Rahul Pal, he had obtained the new cylinder after a lot of hard work by standing in a long line at the gas agency. After reaching home, he kept the cylinder outside for safekeeping, but in the meantime the thieves made away with it. Rahul told that due to the theft of the cylinder, he has not only suffered financial loss, but he will have to go through the same long process to get gas again, which is very painful.
Thief’s actions captured in CCTV
The most shocking thing about the incident is that the thieves carried out it in a well-planned manner. It is clear from the footage captured in the CCTV camera installed nearby that the accused was already doing recce of the area. It can be seen in the footage that as soon as he gets the opportunity, the suspicious youth cleverly enters the courtyard of the house and takes the cylinder and escapes. There is huge anger among the local residents due to the fearless actions of the thieves.
Police started searching for the thief
As soon as information about the incident was received, the Kotwali police team reached the spot and captured the CCTV footage. According to the police, efforts are being made to identify the suspects on the basis of the footage. The police station in-charge said that patrolling has been increased in the area and this gang will soon be exposed. At present, after the face of the thief has come to light, the police has become active to catch him.
