Weather: Western Disturbance active amid rising heat, chances of rain-storm and temperature fluctuations again across the country – Weather Updates Western Disturbance Active Amid Rising Heat Rain Storms Temperature Fluctuations Imd Alert

Amidst the increasing heat in the country, the weather has suddenly taken a turn. Due to active Western Disturbance and cyclonic circulation in different parts, thunderstorms, strong winds and rain have started in many states. In the latest update of the India Meteorological Department (IMD), there has been a warning of thunderstorm, lightning and heavy rain in different areas of the country for the coming days, due to which fluctuations in temperature will also be seen.

The main reason behind this wide change in weather is the cyclonic circulation of western disturbances and winds. Western Disturbance is a system originating from the Mediterranean region and reaching North India, which causes rain and snowfall. At present this system is active in the upper atmosphere over Punjab. Along with this, the subtropical westerly jet stream is also effective over eastern India, due to which cloud formation and rainfall activities have intensified. According to the Meteorological Department, another new Western Disturbance has become active in North-West India since the night of March 17, due to which the weather is likely to become more turbulent in the coming days.

Rain and snowfall in hilly areas

The weather is likely to be more affected in the Western Himalayan region of Jammu and Kashmir, Ladakh and Himachal Pradesh. There may be snowfall in high altitude areas along with light to moderate rain. This may result in a drop in temperature.

Thunderstorm and lightning warning

The weather also remains unstable in the central and eastern parts of the country. There is a possibility of thunderstorm and lightning in Jharkhand, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura, where wind speed can reach 40 to 50 km per hour. Apart from this, there is a possibility of rain and strong wind in many parts of Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Odisha, Telangana, Maharashtra and West Bengal.

Heavy rain alert in Northeast India

The impact of the weather is likely to be more intense in the northeastern states. According to IMD, there may be heavy rainfall with thunderstorms in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam and Meghalaya on March 17. These areas are expected to receive rainfall ranging from 64.5 to 115.5 mm. There is also a possibility of thunderstorm.

period of temperature fluctuations

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in North-West India may increase by 3 to 5 degrees Celsius for the next three days. After this, a fall of 4 to 7 degrees is possible in the next two days. Even in Central India, the temperature may fall by 3 to 5 degrees after a few days. At the same time, a slight decline can also be recorded in Western India, especially Gujarat and Maharashtra.
