
Bharatiya Janata Party has released the first list of 47 candidates for the upcoming Kerala Assembly elections. Two former Union ministers have also been given tickets. These include Rajiv Chandrashekhar, who will contest from Nemam. The second name is that of V Muraleedharan, who will contest from Kazhakootam.
Apart from this, the party has fielded K Chandrasekaran as its candidate from Manjeshwar seat. Whereas, Navya Haridas has been given the ticket from Kozhikode North.


Navya Haridas has been given the ticket from Kozhikode North. Navya is the leader of BJP Mahila Morcha. He had contested the 2024 elections from Wayanad Lok Sabha seat in Kerala against Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi. By-election was held here after Rahul Gandhi left the seat. Navya had to face defeat in the by-election.

CPI(M) had announced 81 candidates
Earlier on Sunday, CPI(M) announced 81 candidates for the assembly elections in Kerala. It also includes the names of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and 11 ministers. CPI(M) state secretary MV Govindan said that out of 81 candidates, six are party-backed independents. Independent candidates for five constituencies Koduvalli, Kottakkal, Kondotty, Tirur and Palakkad will be announced soon. 56 sitting MLAs are contesting the elections.
