Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath reached Chittorgarh district of Rajasthan on Sunday. He participated as the chief guest in the Jauhar tribute ceremony organized here. During this, CM Yogi paid homage to the holy land of Chittorgarh, a symbol of bravery, sacrifice and self-respect, and paid tribute to the brave women who sacrificed everything in the flames of Jauhar. He said that the memory of these brave women who sacrificed everything for the protection of Sanatan Dharma, dignity and motherland is unique in history and it is difficult to find such examples in the entire world. He said that the tradition of renunciation and sacrifice can be learned from Chittor Fort.

Chittor Fort described as a symbol of India’s identity

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Chittor Fort is not just a fort made of stones, but it is a symbol of India’s identity and self-respect. Referring to his grandfather Guru’s connection with Rajasthan, he said that whatever positive work is being done in Uttar Pradesh, the stunning tradition of Rajasthan and especially Chittorgarh has contributed to his inspiration.


Jauhar was described as a symbol of Indian identity and women’s respect.

In his address, the Chief Minister said that Jauhar is not a symbol of struggle for power or empire, but a symbol of Indian identity, women’s respect and security. He said that this is not just a remembrance of history, but an interview of this land that has created history. He also said that this program also takes forward the message that in future no sister or daughter should have to go through that phase of Jauhar fast and every daughter should be guaranteed safety and respect.

Responsibility to safeguard the heritage: Vishvaraj Singh Mewar

Presiding over the program, Mewar Maharana Vishwaraj Singh Mewar said that it is our collective responsibility to take care of our rich cultural and glorious heritage. He said that history does not belong to any one caste or community but to all of us. If we are not able to preserve the heritage of our ancestors, it will be a question mark for all of us. He also said that historical places should be seen from the point of view of history and not from the point of view of entertainment, because history gives us an opportunity to preview.

Centre’s initiative on tourism and heritage conservation

Union Tourism and Culture Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat said that Chittorgarh Fort is a symbol of India’s self-respect, identity and indomitable will to live. He told that due to Chittorgarh Fort being included in the UNESCO World Heritage List, there are some limitations in the development work here, but efforts are being made that the tourists coming here return with a feeling of patriotism, pride and pride. For this purpose, an initiative to establish an experience center in the fort complex is proposed.
