Araghchi said during a conversation, ‘The Strait of Hormuz is open. It is closed only to the tankers and ships of our enemies, America and its allies. There is no restriction on movement for everyone else. On the question regarding the Iranian blockade in Hormuz, Araghchi said that this blockade has been imposed due to security concerns. Regarding Russia and China, Araghchi said, ‘Russia and China are our strategic partners. We have had close cooperation in the past, which continues to this day. This also includes military cooperation.
‘Hormuz Strait is open, but we have control’ IRGS Commander
- A senior Iranian military officer has said that the Strait of Hormuz, a very important sea route for carrying oil to the world, is still open and Iran remains under its control. Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) naval commander Alireza Tangsiri said in a statement that the claims being made by the US are not true. America is saying that it has destroyed Iran’s navy and can give safe passage to oil ships, but these things are wrong. China’s news agency Xinhua has given this information quoting Iran’s Tasnim news agency.
