
Controversy has arisen regarding a question asked in the question paper of Uttar Pradesh Police Sub-Inspector recruitment examination. A leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has written a letter to Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath demanding action in this matter. Meanwhile, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board said late on Saturday (March 14) evening that an inquiry has been ordered in relation to the referred question and action will be taken against those found guilty after the inquiry.
This question was asked in UP Police Recruitment Exam
In the examination held on Saturday, a question was asked, “Answer in one word for those who change according to the occasion.” For this, four options were given – Pandit, Opportunist, Sincere and Virtuous. Objection has been raised on the inclusion of the word ‘Pandit’ in the question options, after which the state government has taken cognizance of the matter and directed for investigation in this regard.
The board ordered investigation into the matter
The Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board said late on Saturday evening that an inquiry has been ordered in relation to the referred question and after the investigation, action will be taken against those found guilty. In a post on ‘X’, the board said, “In the context of visible discussions in the social media on a question asked in the first shift of the written examination for the recruitment of Sub Inspector Civil Police and equivalent posts conducted by the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board on March 14, the Uttar Pradesh Police Recruitment and Promotion Board wishes to inform that its question papers are not set by the Police Recruitment Board itself at the local level.”
The board further said in the same post, “Rather, this work is done by highly confidential organizations in such a way that the confidentiality of the question papers remains intact before the examination.” To maintain this confidentiality, confidential material i.e. question papers are not inspected by any officer or employee even at the board level.
The Controller of Examinations of Uttar Pradesh Recruitment and Promotion Board said through this post that the sealed packets of question papers are first opened in front of two candidates in the examination rooms at the examination centers and then distributed. Investigation has been ordered in relation to the referred question of this case. After investigation, action will be taken against the concerned officers found guilty.
Deputy Chief Minister reacted on the matter
State Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak gave a strong reaction on this matter and said that the government has serious objection to the options given in the question and it has been taken into cognizance. Pathak said in a post on ‘X’, “We have a strong objection to the options given for the question. The government has taken serious cognizance of this matter. If any question hurts the dignity of any society or class, then it is absolutely not acceptable.”
BJP leader expressed objection by writing a letter to CM
BJP’s Uttar Pradesh unit secretary Abhijat Mishra, who belongs to the Brahmin community, appealed to the Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath Have objected to the question by writing a letter and have demanded action against those responsible for preparing the question paper.
