‘Akhilesh Yadav likes Moinuddin not Kanshiram’, who said this about the SP chief?

Ambedkar Mahasabha Trust President and Legislative Council member Dr. Lalji Prasad Nirmal has accused Samajwadi Party President Akhilesh Yadav of adopting a double attitude towards Dalit politics. He said that as the assembly elections are approaching, the SP chief has started remembering Bahujan leader Honorable Kanshiram ji, but while being in power, respect and commitment towards him is not visible.

Dr. Nirmal said that while being the Chief Minister, Akhilesh Yadav changed the names of many important institutions and places associated with the name of Kanshi Ram ji. He said that even the names of the districts, medical colleges and universities established in the name of Kanshiram ji were changed.

He alleged that the SP government changed the name of the Arabic-Persian University named after Kanshiram ji to Moinuddin Chishti University. Similarly, Saharanpur Medical College, which was earlier known as Kanshiram Medical College, was renamed after Mahmudul Hasan Nadvi. Not only this, the name of Honorable Kanshiram Nagar was also changed to Kasganj.

Dalit community remained neglected during Akhilesh government – Dr. Nirmal

He said that now as the elections are approaching, to get the votes of the Dalit community, SP chief is announcing to celebrate the birth anniversary of Kanshi Ram ji as PDA Day. In this so-called PDA of SP, the Dalit community has always been neglected during the Akhilesh government. Dr. Nirmal alleged that injustice was done to Dalit officers also during the tenure of SP government. At that time, many Dalit officers were demoted in retaliation, due to which SDM level officers had to work as Tehsildars.

Dalit society will no longer get confused – Dr. Nirmal

Along with this, he said that the SP government also tried to end the important issue like reservation in promotion of Dalits by taking suo motu cognizance. In SP’s politics, instead of respect and rights of Dalits, only concern about vote bank is visible. While Dalits were neglected while in power, remembering them as soon as elections came is only an example of political opportunism. Dr. Nirmal said that the Dalit society has now understood political posturing and opportunistic politics and it will not be misled by any such efforts.
