ICC President Jay Shah honored at CNBC-TV18’s ‘Indian Business Leader Awards’ (IBLA) for his outstanding contribution to the field of sports. On this occasion, he dedicated his award to all the athletes of the country, especially the women players. Jay Shah, while praising the recent performance of Team India, said that just as Australia once dominated world cricket, today India has achieved the same position. Recalling his tenure as BCCI Secretary from 2019 to 2026, he said that the Indian team achieved many historic successes during this period, the major ones being the victory in the 2024 T20 World Cup and the 2025 Champions Trophy. Referring to the success of the recent World Cup as ICC President, he said that this time all records of viewership were broken and a new history of 7.2 million ‘concurrent views’ was created.
