PCB threatens league action against Blessing Muzarabani

New Delhi: Zimbabwean fast bowler Blessing Muzarabani will play for KKR in the Indian Premier League 2026. Muzarabani was bought by Islamabad United in the Pakistan Super League auction last month, but before the start of the season, Muzarabani decided to withdraw from the league because he has got the IPL contract. After this decision of Muzarabani, now Pakistan Cricket Board is very upset. In such a situation, PCB is thinking of taking legal action against Muzarabani. PCB believes that Muzarabani has violated the PSL contract by signing for KKR.

Three-time IPL team KKR has included Muzarabani in its squad as a replacement for Mustafizur Rahman. Let us tell you that on the instructions of BCCI, Bangladesh fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman was released by KKR in January. On the other hand, the Zimbabwean fast bowler was signed by PSL’s Islamabad United in place of West Indies’ Shamar Joseph for the upcoming season which will run from February 26 to May 3 and will coincide with the 19th season of the IPL.

Muzarabani had a stellar performance in the T20 World Cup

The 29-year-old Muzarabani had a stellar performance in the T20 World Cup 2026, taking 13 wickets in six matches and leading Zimbabwe to the top of Group B, which also included teams like Australia, Sri Lanka, Ireland and Oman. He led a spectacular victory in the tournament against former champion Australia by taking four wickets. At the same time, Mustafizur, who was bought by KKR for Rs 9.2 crore in the IPL 2026 auction, has now joined the Lahore Qalandars team of PSL.

Muzarabani has played 18 Tests, 57 ODIs and 89 T20 matches for Zimbabwe and has taken a total of 243 wickets in his international career so far. Last year, South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch was signed by Peshawar Zalmi as a diamond pick. Later he joined Mumbai Indians in place of the injured player. In response, PCB had banned PSL for one season.
