This elite list also includes legends like Mark Taylor, Neil Harvey and Vivian Richards, who left the bowlers helpless with their batting.

New Delhi. Many records are made and broken in the world of cricket. But in the history of Test cricket, some such innings have been played which are considered ‘invincible’. Once the batsmen set foot on the crease, they created such a mountain of runs that crossing it is like a dream for today’s batsmen. In the 149-year history of Test cricket, there have been only two batsmen who have scored more than 900 runs in a single series. Let us know about those 5 batsmen of the world who have made the record of scoring the most runs in a Test series.

Australia’s Sir Don Bradman, the greatest cricket batsman of all time, is at the top of this list. What he did against England in the Ashes series of 1930 still seems like a miracle. Bradman scored 974 runs in the 5-match Ashes series at an average of 139.14, which is still a world record. In this series, Bradman scored one triple century (334) and two double centuries. Almost 100 years have passed, but this world record of most runs in a series is still unbroken.

Walter Hammond had scored runs before Bradman.
Just a year before this feat of Bradman, England’s legendary batsman Walter Hammond had scored a lot of runs. In the Ashes series of 1928-29 against Australia, Hammond had taken serious notice of the Kangaroo bowlers. He scored 905 runs at an average of 113.12 in the five-match Test series. At that time, Hammond became the first batsman in the world to touch the mark of 900 runs. He had scored two consecutive double centuries in this series.

Mark Taylor is at third place in this list
Former Australian captain Mark Taylor is at third place in this list. He proved his batting prowess against England in the 1989 Ashes series. Taylor scored 839 runs at an average of 83.90 in the 6-match Test series. Taylor had made every bowler of England helpless in this series. This performance put him in the league of the best openers of modern cricket.

Neil Harvey scored 834 runs in a series
Another Australian legend, Neil Harvey, had scored runs while playing at home against South Africa in the year 1952-53. Harvey scored 834 runs in the 5-match series, in which his average was 92.66. Scoring 834 runs in the 5-match series shows the greatness of Harvey. There was no answer to his technique on the fast pitches of South Africa.

Any batting record is incomplete without Richards
Any batting record is incomplete without the ‘King’ of West Indies, Vivian Richards. He had created havoc against England on their own soil in 1976. Richards scored 829 runs in the 4-match series. During this period his batting average was 118.42. The thing to note is that Richards achieved this feat in only 4 matches. His strike rate and aggression were like a nightmare for bowlers in that era.
