New Delhi. The Indian team won the ICC T20 World Cup title on the basis of excellent planning by captain Suryakumar Yadav and coach Gautam Gambhir. India became the first country to win this trophy at home and also created a new record of winning it twice in a row. Team India has now become the team to win the T20 World Cup the most number of times. India created history by defeating New Zealand by 96 runs in the final. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has announced a cash reward of Rs 131 crore for the team and support staff that wins the Men’s T20 World Cup.
BCCI Secretary Devjit Saikia confirmed the announcement through a media statement on Tuesday (March 10, 2026). Saikia said, ‘With this victory, India has become the first team to win the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup three times, making it one of the most successful teams in this format.’

How much money will a player get?
Ever since BCCI announced a reward of Rs 131 crore for the T20 World Champion team, everyone has been wondering how much money will come to a player. According to The Hindu, each of the 15 players of the team will get Rs 6 crore, while the remaining Rs 41 crore will be distributed among the coaching staff and other support staff. After India’s spectacular victory in 2024, BCCI had announced a bonus of Rs 125 crore, in which each player received Rs 5 crore.
On Monday (March 9, 2026), BCCI President Mithun Manhas, while praising the team, had said that India is the first team to defend the T20 World Cup title and won the tournament on home ground for the first time. Manhas said, ‘Winning the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is a proud moment for the entire country. Retaining the title and achieving this feat at home makes it even more special.
