Fall in South Korea’s KOSPI triggers circuit breakers, trading halted

South Korea’s benchmark KOSPI stock index fell more than 8% to trigger circuit breakers at 0131 GMT on Monday, halting trading for 20 minutes.

Circuit breakers were activated for the second time on the index this month, after they were triggered on Wednesday for the first time since August 2024.
