
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday (8 March) inaugurated two new corridors under Delhi Metro. After this, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) started train services on both the corridors at 3 pm on Sunday afternoon. These services have been started on Majlis Park-Maujpur Babarpur and Deepali Chowk-Majlis Park sections.
Earlier in the day, the Prime Minister laid the foundation stone of three additional metro lines to improve connectivity in the national capital. These two new corridors include a 12.3 km long section of the Pink Line between Majlis Park and Maujpur Babarpur and a 9.9 km long section of the Magenta Line connecting Deepali Chowk to Majlis Park.

Which areas of Delhi will benefit the people?
According to DMRC, these corridors are expected to benefit residents of several areas including Burari, Jagatpur-Wazirabad, Khajuri Khas, Bhajanpura, Yamuna Vihar, Madhuban Chowk, Haiderpur Badli Mod, Bhalswa and Majlis Park. The Prime Minister also laid the foundation stone of three new corridors under Phase V-A of the Delhi Metro project. The total length of these lines is 16.1 km.
There will be better connectivity between Noida, South Delhi and airport
The proposed routes include RK Ashram Marg to Indraprastha, Aerocity to Indira Gandhi Airport Terminal-1 and Tughlakabad to Kalindi Kunj. These Noidawill provide better connectivity between major locations like South Delhi and the airport. The continuous expansion of the metro network is benefiting the people of Delhi and the entire NCR and people’s travel is becoming easier.
