Iran: Before the American attack on the Iranian warship, India had given permission to another ship of Tehran to dock, big claim – Iran Navy Iris Lavan Safely Docked In Kochi After India Gave Permission

A few days before the American attack on Iran’s warship ‘Iris Dena’, Iran had sought help from India for its another warship ‘Iris Lavan’. Government sources said Iran made an emergency request to India on February 28, seeking permission for its ship Iris Lavan to dock in Kochi. Quoting government sources, news agency ANI said that the Indian government had accepted the permission of the Iranian government and allowed the Iranian ship to dock in Kochi.

Iran had sought permission from India to dock the ship immediately

Iran’s warship Iris Lavan had come to participate in the International Fleet Review and Exercise MILAN 2026 held between 15 to 25 February. On 28 February, the Government of Iran requested the Government of India to allow the vessel to dock immediately in Kochi due to serious technical problems. It is noteworthy that the attacks by America and Israel on Iran also started on 28 February. India allowed the Iranian ship to dock in Kochi on March 1. After which Iris Lavan reached Kochi on March 4 and is currently docked in Kochi. 183 crew members of Iris Lavan are currently staying at naval facilities in Kochi.

American submarine targeted Iranian ship

Government sources said the delay in sharing information was due to the presence of other ships in the area. Earlier on March 4, the Iranian Navy warship Iris Dena was targeted by an American submarine south of Sri Lanka. Of the 180 crew members, 87 were reported killed in the attack. After the attack, 32 people were rescued by the Sri Lankan Navy and are undergoing treatment in a Sri Lankan hospital. India also launched operations to assist Iris Dena and the Indian Navy deployed its warships INS Tarangini and INS Ikshak as well as its P8I patrol aircraft.

Iranian Foreign Minister spoke to S. Jaishankar

Iran’s Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi spoke to Indian Foreign Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar on phone. Apart from Jaishankar, Araghchi also spoke to Sri Lankan Foreign Minister Vijitha Herath. In this conversation, Iran discussed America’s aggressive attitude and recent developments. He also strongly condemned the US attack on an Iranian warship and called it a crime. The Iranian Foreign Minister also talked about raising this issue through competent legal channels.
