Pakistani player misbehaved with a woman in Sri Lankan hotel during T20 World Cup
New Delhi. Pakistan cricket team comes into discussion for some reason or the other. There is already an uproar over losing and being out of the ICC T20 World Cup. Now the news is that a woman has been misbehaved while playing a tournament in Sri Lanka. According to a report by Telecom Asia Sport, a member of the Pakistan cricket team has been fined for misbehaving with a female hotel staff in Kandi. This incident has come to light when the team was out of the T20 World Cup just a few days ago because they could not progress beyond the Super 8.
According to the report, this alleged incident took place before Pakistan’s last Super 8 match against Sri Lanka. The report states that the player behaved inappropriately with a female housekeeping staff in the team hotel. The female staff immediately raised the alarm, after which the hotel staff intervened and handled the situation. Information about this matter was given to Pakistan team manager Naved Cheema. According to the report, senior officials of the Golden Crown Hotel demanded strict action. But Cheema apologized to the hotel management on behalf of the cricketer and imposed a fine for indiscipline, which resolved the matter at that time.
Although the identity of the cricketer has not been revealed, but according to the report the case is not completely over yet. The player is expected to appear before the Pakistan Cricket Board after returning home and may face further disciplinary action. This tournament of Pakistan was very disappointing because the team could not reach the semi-finals due to net run rate. The team members returned home in different batches on Sunday, March 1 and Monday.
This latest case once again raises questions on the off-field behavior of players during foreign tours. Last year, young batsman Haider Ali was arrested by the Greater Manchester Police on rape charges during Pakistan Shaheen’s tour of England. Later he was produced in the court and released due to lack of evidence.
In another old case, team masseur Malang Ali was also reported and fined for inappropriate behavior with a female staff during the tour of Malaysia.
