ICC women’s ODI Ranking: Indian women’s cricket team’s star opener batsman Smriti Mandhana has reached the first position in the ICC ODI rankings. Mandhana had a strong performance in the three-match ODI series against Australia. Mandhana has achieved the number-1 position in the rankings by defeating Laura Wolwart of South Africa.

Smriti Mandhana ranks first in ICC ODI rankings
Dubai: India’s opening batsman Smriti Mandhana has reached the top of the ICC women’s ODI batting rankings due to her excellent performance in the recently concluded three-match series against Australia. Smriti, who played innings of 58 and 31 runs in the series against Australia, has 790 points and has overtaken South Africa’s Laura Wolvaardt who has 782 points. Wolvaardt will have a chance to regain the top spot during the series against New Zealand in March and April.
Alyssa Healy, who scored a century in her last ODI match, bid farewell after remaining in fourth place in the rankings with 744 points. Beth Mooney stood third while Ashley Gardner (724) stood fifth. Indian captain Harmanpreet Kaur managed to enter the top 10 with ninth position while Jemimah Rodrigues is at 12th position.
India lost 3-0 in the ODI series
Despite India’s clean sweep in the three-match series, Harmanpreet (652) has gained four places. He played innings of 53, 54 and 25 runs. In the bowling list, Deepti Sharma is the only Indian bowler in the top 10 at 10th position. Elena King (775) has reached the top of the bowling list. She defeated Sophie Ecclestone, who remained at the top for almost four years. Gardner is in third place. Australia’s Elena was the top bowler in the ODI series by taking seven wickets at an average of 16.71. He took four wickets for 33 runs in the third and final ODI, which helped Australia register a spectacular victory of 185 runs. Elena also achieved the best ranking points of her career.
Apart from Elena, three other Australian bowlers Gardner (third), Annabel Sutherland (fifth) and Kim Garth (eighth) are also included in the top eight. Gardner (516) continues to top the list of ODI all-rounders. She has a lead of 98 points over second placed Hayley Mathews of West Indies (418). Sutherland (534) has jumped 23 places to 34th. Deepti is also in the top 10 in the list of all-rounders with fifth position.
