IPL schedule will come in two parts

New Delhi: The suspense regarding the schedule of Indian Premier League 2026 is over. The tournament is going to start this month, for which the schedule will be released in two parts. According to the report, the IPL Governing Council has prepared the schedule for the first part of the tournament and it will be announced on March 6 or 7. It is expected that the tournament will start on March 26 as already scheduled.

Earlier it was reported that there may be a delay of one or two days in the start of IPL 2026. The main reason behind releasing the IPL schedule in two parts is that assembly elections will also be held in some states during the IPL. In such a situation, BCCI was waiting for the announcement of election dates, but the Election Commission has not yet announced the dates, due to which the schedule will be announced in two parts. The complete schedule will be released as soon as the election date arrives.

The venue of the final has also been decided

Along with the schedule, a big news has also come regarding the venue of the final of IPL 2026. The playoff and final matches of the tournament will be played at M Chinnaswamy Cricket Stadium in Bengaluru. Since Royal Challengers Bangalore is the defending champion of the tournament. In such a situation, the opening match will also be played in Chinnaswamy only.

Apart from this, five matches of RCB will be played on its home ground, whereas due to the earlier agreement, RCB has to play 2 matches in Raipur. Earlier it was being said that RCB would not compete in Chinnaswamy. Actually, 11 people had died due to a stampede during the victory parade of the last RCB team. This caused a lot of uproar, but the Karnataka government and the state cricket association have given approval for IPL matches in Chinnaswamy.
