Sanju Samson was the hero in giving India this thrilling victory and getting a ticket to the semi-finals, who had earlier got a chance in only two matches in the tournament. Samson played this innings at a time when the team needed it the most. The target of 196 runs was big. The Indian innings had faltered due to the early dismissals of Abhishek Sharma and Ishan Kishan, but Samson did not lose hope and made India victorious by lasting till the last over of the innings. On one hand, head coach Gautam Gambhir and captain Suryakumar Yadav praised Samson for his match-winning innings, while some fellow players were seen having fun with him and pulling his leg. Samson points like Suryakumar and says, ‘He is standing behind.’ When Akshar turned the camera on front, Surya was seen standing behind. Immediately Surya says, ‘We are standing behind you, keep moving forward.’ Akshar Patel also says with pleasure, ‘Move faster.’ After this, Akshar congratulates Samson for playing a brilliant innings and says, ‘When did Chetta debut?’ On hearing this, Samson started laughing.
