New Delhi. After being out of the T20 World Cup, the West Indies cricket team is stuck in Kolkata. Due to increasing tension in the Middle East (West Asia), many airways there have been closed. The team played its Super 8 match in Kolkata and was scheduled to return from India soon after being eliminated. But his flight was canceled due to the closure of Dubai Airport and suspension of air services in large parts of West Asia. The crisis began when Israel first attacked Iran, leading to security concerns in the region and many countries closing their air borders. Flights at major airports in West Asia, which are important transit points from India to the Caribbean, have been closed or reduced. For this reason many international flights are being canceled or diverted. Not only West Indies, Zimbabwe’s cricket team is also stuck in Delhi due to air restrictions.
Teams have stayed in India only
Under the captaincy of Sikandar Raza, Zimbabwe did not lose a single match in the group stage. This team had registered victories against former champions Australia and Sri Lanka. Although, Zimbabwe had to face defeat in all three matches of Group 1 in the Super 8 stage, but Zimbabwe ended its campaign with pride. After the end of the World Cup campaign, this team was to travel via Dubai, but due to the closure of the airport there, it has to wait for other arrangements to return home.
