The weather patterns in the country are changing rapidly. According to the latest forecast of the Meteorological Department, an increase of 2 to 4 degrees Celsius may be recorded in the maximum temperature in North-West, Central and West India during the next few days, while there is a possibility of rain with thunder and lightning in many parts of North-East and South India. There are indications of rain and snowfall in the western Himalayan region also due to the effect of new western disturbance.

According to the Meteorological Department, the maximum temperature in the plains of North-West India may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next 7 days. Due to this, the temperature at many places may be recorded 3 to 5 degrees higher than normal. Strong sunlight during the day and increasing heat in the afternoon can trouble people.

Strong winds blowing in the upper atmospheric layers are also causing changes in temperature. Overall, the heat is slowly starting to show its effect in the area. The maximum temperature is expected to increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in Central India during the next 6 days. By the end of the week the temperature here may reach above normal. Especially in Madhya Pradesh, the maximum temperature is likely to be 2 to 4 degrees above normal. Farmers and people working in fields have been advised to exercise caution during day time and work during morning or evening hours.

Slight increase in eastern India, then stability

The maximum temperature in eastern India may increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius for the next 3 days. After this, there is no possibility of any significant change in temperature. The weather will remain dry in most areas, although the possibility of light rain in some hilly and lowland areas has not been ruled out.

Humidity increased with heat in Gujarat and Maharashtra

The maximum temperature in Maharashtra may increase by 3 to 4 degrees Celsius during the next 4 days. After this, there will be no major change in the temperature for 2 days, but by the end of the week it may remain 2 to 4 degrees above normal. There will be no significant change in the temperature in Gujarat in the next 24 hours, but an increase of 3 to 5 degrees is possible during the next 5 days. There is a possibility of hot and humid weather in some areas of the state on March 4 and 5, due to which people will have to take extra precautions.

Weather will be active in north-eastern states

Light to moderate rain with thunderstorms is forecast in Arunachal, Assam and Meghalaya. Apart from this, light to moderate rainfall may also occur in the sub-Himalayan areas of West Bengal and Sikkim from March 1, which may continue for the next few days.

A new western disturbance may become active in the western Himalayan region from the night of March 2, 2026. Due to its effect, there is a possibility of light rain or snowfall in some parts of Jammu and Kashmir on March 3 and 4. At present the weather may remain dry.

Weather will change due to the effect of trough in the south

A trough is extending from Tamil Nadu to interior parts of Karnataka, due to which changes in weather may be seen in some areas of South India. There is a possibility of light rain and thundershowers in some parts of Kerala and Mahe. In such circumstances, it has been advised to avoid standing in open places and be alert from lightning strikes.
