If India does not reach SF, I will give up my seat, Pakistani cricketers clash

The ‘do or die’ match between India and West Indies in the T20 World Cup 2026 has sparked a new debate in Pakistan. Former cricketer Ahmed Shehzad has put a condition on his job on the TV show ‘Harna Mana Hai’ that if India does not reach the semi-finals, he will leave the show. Shahzad has placed this bet against the prediction of Mohammad Aamir, in which Aamir had claimed India’s exit and West Indies’ victory. This virtual quarterfinal to be held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata will now test not only the players but also the credibility of these legends.

New Delhi. Today, not only is there a great cricket match between India and West Indies on the grounds of the historic Eden Gardens in Kolkata, but the reputation of two greats is also at stake in a TV studio in Pakistan across the border. Before this ‘do or die’ match of T20 World Cup 2026, the debate between former Pakistani cricketers Ahmed Shehzad and Mohammad Aamir has created a stir on social media. The debate in Pakistan’s famous TV show ‘Harna Mana Hai’ became so heated that Ahmed Shehzad even put his chair (job) at stake. Shahzad, brimming with confidence, said that if the Indian team does not reach the semi-finals by defeating West Indies, he will leave the TV show.

Ahmed Shehzad said, ‘If India does not reach the semi-finals, I will leave this seat. I will leave this show. I am confident that Team India will not only reach the semi-finals but will also play the final. On the other hand, Mohammad Aamir has been adopting a tough stance against India since the beginning of the tournament. Aamir believes that the teams of South Africa and West Indies are more balanced than India. Raising questions on Indian bowling, he said, ‘West Indies can defeat India very easily. There is a match in Kolkata and apart from Jasprit Bumrah, none of the Indian bowlers seem to be in form. A team like Zimbabwe scored 184 runs against them. Look at the depth of West Indies, even after falling 7 wickets for 90 runs in the last match, they scored 180. This team has the power to oust India.

Shahzad praised the Indian system
Disagreeing with Aamir’s words, Shahzad praised the structure of Indian cricket and the mental discipline of the players. He argued that the performance in the last match by winning against Pakistan by a big margin and improving the net run rate shows that Team India knows how to handle the pressure of big matches.

Shahzad said, ‘We have criticized him a lot, but he has a strong system which prepares the players for difficult situations. He has the flexibility and spirit that is needed to win the World Cup. He challenged Aamir and even said that if India wins, then the tag of ‘Astrologer’ should be taken away from Aamir.

‘Virtual quarterfinal’ at Eden Gardens
This match to be held in Kolkata today, Sunday, March 1, 2026, is a virtual quarterfinal for both the teams. The equation is very clear, the team that wins will go straight to the next round and the losing team will be out of the World Cup.
