
Voting for Patna University Students Union elections ended at 2.30 pm on Saturday. About 37 percent. This vote percentage is showing indifference towards the elections and hence there are indications of a tough competition between the candidates. The margin of victory and defeat is likely to be very less. If we understand the discussion till now, there is a tough competition for the post of President between Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad and National Students Union of India. The margin of victory and defeat in other posts is also likely to be less.
During voting on Saturday, some students raised slogans against the university administration in front of Patna Women’s College. Independent candidate Rinkal Yadav, who contested the elections with the support of Tej Pratap Yadav, also protested. Rinkal Yadav alleged that wrong is being done to him, hence the elections should be canceled immediately. Their allegation is that I am Rinkal Yadav and Rinkal Kumar is written on my ballot paper, so that by changing my identity I can already be thrown out of the field.
Let us tell you that the names of 20,036 students are in the voter list. In the Central Panel, 11 candidates have contested for the post of President, eight for the post of Vice President, nine for the post of General Secretary, six each for the post of Joint Secretary and Treasurer. There are 40 candidates for Central Panel and 45 candidates for Counsellor. Five of these candidates have already won unopposed.
How will the elections be conducted? Know the process.
According to the university administration, five ballot boxes have been installed for the post of Central Panel Officer and one for the post of Counsellor. Ballot papers have also been decided separately for all posts. Students will have to vote by putting a cross mark in front of the candidate of their choice. Students participating in the voting process will have to bring their ID card.
How many polling stations have been created?
According to the university administration, a total of 41 polling stations have been set up in all the colleges and four faculties of Patna University. Policemen and magistrates have been deployed at each booth. Patna Police team is continuously patrolling since morning. Apart from this, monitoring is also being done through CCTV.
Election results will be released today itself
Election officer Shankar Prasad said that counting will take place today itself and the result will also be released by night. Counting of votes will start at 5 pm in Patna Art College. Some six rounds will count. Strong security arrangements have been made here also. Vice Chancellor Prof. Namita Singh has appealed to the students that everyone should participate in the voting process. Participate in this process peacefully.
