Rinku Singh’s record at Eden Gardens has been unmatched, his presence there will prove to be a big challenge for the West Indies team. Rinku Singh’s father Khanchand died early Friday due to liver cancer. Rinku, who is part of the World Cup squad, is on ventilator support at Yatharth Hospital in Greater Noida. He left for Delhi from Chennai on Thursday night to attend the funeral of his father. BCCI Secretary Devajit Saikia confirmed the news and said, ‘Rinku Singh will join the team in Kolkata tomorrow.’ This statement makes it clear that the board and team management completely stand with Rinku in this difficult time.

Father’s departure at such a time is very painful. BCCI President Mithun Manhas also expressed his condolences through social media and prayed to Lord Shiva to give strength to Rinku in this difficult time.
