After the news of the allegations against Avimukteshwaranand Saraswati came to light, the atmosphere at Jhoteshwar Ashram in Gotegaon of Narsinghpur district was filled with emotion and anger. The devotees present in the ashram have completely rejected the allegations and called it a conspiracy.
Now reactions of supporters are coming out one by one regarding the allegations. The devotees who reached the ashram say that they have been in contact with Shankaracharya for years and it is wrong to question his personality.
‘This is a well-planned conspiracy’- Achalanand Ji Maharaj
Achalanand Maharaj said that he had been with Shankaracharya for about 15 years. According to him, the matter that has come to light is part of a well-planned conspiracy. He alleged that power, governance and administration may also have a role in this.
He said that some unruly elements have hatred towards Jagatguru and are deliberately trying to defame him. Achalanand also said that since Shankaracharya’s increasing activism on the issue of stopping cow slaughter and declaring mother cow as the national animal, an atmosphere is being created against him.
‘We cannot even speak wrong about him’- Kalyani Pandey
Former mayor of Narsinghpur, Kalyani Pandey said that she bows to Shankaracharya again and again. According to her, she has known him for a long time and he is like God to her.
He said that speaking wrong about such a great saint is like a sin. According to him, Shankaracharya’s stature is so big that it is wrong to make such allegations against him.
Jyotishwar Ashram’s sevadar Vimlesh Thakur also termed the allegations as baseless. He said that Maharaj lives a simple life and never uses comfortable means. Vimlesh also said that the person who is making allegations has himself been involved in controversies.
Other devotees present in the ashram say that Shankaracharya’s behavior has always been simple and dignified. At present, investigation and rhetoric regarding the entire matter is going on, but the devotees in the ashram are seen standing in full support of him.
