Gorakhpur News: Yogi government’s big gift to working women, made this big announcement for Gorakhpur

The Yogi government of the state, which is continuously moving towards women empowerment, has given a big gift to the working women. The government is going to build another working women’s hostel in Gorakhpur. A hostel with a capacity of 75 beds is being constructed by the Municipal Corporation under the Chief Minister Global City Development Scheme.

The second working women’s hostel will be built under the Chief Minister Shramjeevi Mahila Hostel Scheme. The construction of this hostel with a capacity of 500 beds will cost Rs 47.38 crore.

CM Yogi will lay the foundation stone in March

District Magistrate Deepak Meena says that Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam Limited, Gorakhpur unit has been nominated as the executing agency for the construction of 500 bedded Working Women Hostel to be built by the Women and Child Welfare Department.

Its tender has been published on 28 January. Technical bids will be opened on 6th March. After completing the tender process, preparations are also being made to lay its foundation stone by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in the month of March.

First installment of Rs 16.58 crore released

This hostel will be constructed on 6,640 square meter land adjacent to the Chargaon block complex. Out of the amount of Rs 47 crore 38 lakh 47 thousand sanctioned by Women Welfare Section-3, Rs 16 crore 58 lakh 46 thousand have been released as the first installment.

According to the action plan prepared by the Government Construction Corporation, there will be stilt parking in the building of the Working Women Hostel. An eight-storey building will be built on top of it. 250 rooms with single bed, double bed and triple bed capacity will be made in this building.

Hostel will have child care, gym, canteen and more

There will be facility of rain water harvesting here and horticulture work will also be done in the campus. The hostel will have modern facilities. These include CCTV cameras, fire safety system and crèche. There will also be a gym centre, auditorium, laundry, vehicle parking, canteen and departmental store.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath On the instructions of the Municipal Corporation, a working women’s hostel is already under construction. The construction of this 75 bedded hostel being built near Sahara Estate will cost Rs 18.08 crore.

Hostel will be named after Ahilyabai

The Chief Minister has announced to name this hostel in the memory of Lokmata Ahilyabai Holkar. About 40 percent of its construction has been completed and it is expected to be ready by June 2027.
