Chief of Defense Staff (CDS) General Anil Chauhan said that today’s war is not limited to just land, air or sea. Now the fight has reached the internet, technology and even the minds of people. Therefore, the Indian Armed Forces will have to move beyond just working through networks (net-centric operations) towards smart and technology-based warfare (intelligent warfare).

What did CDS General Anil Chauhan say?


  • General Anil Chauhan addressed the annual seminar organized at the College of Defense Management (CDM), Hyderabad.

  • CDS said, today’s war is changing rapidly. Now the fight is not only fought face to face in the field, but is also fought through technology, cyber and information. That is, along with traditional weapons, new technology and methods without direct confrontation have also been included in the war.

  • He said that India should develop such a strong strategic capability which can stop the enemy even without nuclear weapons. With this, in case of any tension or conflict, the country can respond strongly at every level and achieve victory.

He said, the Army should not be limited to working only in different areas (land, air, sea, cyber, space), but should adopt a strategy of working together and with full force in every area, which is called All Realm All Domain Operation.
