PM Modi further said, ‘India stands with Israel with full determination and confidence.’ The Prime Minister further said, ‘I express my condolences to the Israeli citizens killed in the terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel. Common citizens cannot be justified in any way. Common people were killed in the 9/11 attacks in Mumbai, including Israeli citizens.
‘We understand your pain’
Narendra Modi said, ‘I was born (September 17, 1950) on the same day when India gave official recognition to Israel. On behalf of the people of India, I extend my deepest condolences to every life and every family whose world was destroyed by the merciless terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7. We understand your pain, we share in your sorrow. India stands firmly with Israel with full confidence at this time and in the future as well.”
‘India’s support to Gaza Peace’
The Prime Minister said, “…the Gaza Peace Initiative was approved by the UN Security Council, it shows a way forward. India has supported this initiative. We believe that it is a promise of a just and lasting peace for all the people of this region, including resolving the Palestine issue. Let all our efforts be done with wisdom, courage and humanity. The path to peace is not always easy, but India is with you and the world for dialogue, peace and stability in the region.’
‘India suffered the pain of terrorism for a long time’
He said, killing of civilians for any reason cannot be justified and nothing can justify terrorism. India has also suffered the pain of terrorism for a long time. We remember the loss of innocent lives, including Israeli citizens, in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks. Like you, we also have a policy of zero tolerance for terrorism, with no double standards.” Further, the Jewish community has lived in India without any oppression or discrimination. They have preserved their religion and participated in the society.
