Lahore. After Pakistan’s defeat to England in the Super Eight match of the T20 World Cup, angry cricket fans have posted threatening messages to the family of captain Salman Aga. Salman’s wife Sabe wrote on Instagram that Pakistan will not be able to win the T20 World Cup by abusing and threatening her or their son. Pakistan lost by two wickets in the match played in Pallekele, Sri Lanka on Tuesday, after which the fans also abused other players of the team.
Some former players have strongly condemned such behavior of fans. Former captain Moeen Khan recalled similar experiences during Pakistan’s defeat in the 1999 World Cup final. He said, ‘This is absolutely wrong and the cyber crime department should investigate these threatening posts and punish the culprits.’
